The Bruce Springsteen Men's Chunky Knit Hat
Photos of the "Boss" wearing the beanie and a modern knock-off that's for sale.
- maybe use a raised rib stitch = SC or HDC back loop only
- best look prob comes from the front post/back post method
knit pattern that starts at the bottom of the hat and works toward the top.

guessing on a hat size by crocheting with the rectangle technique where the ends are stitched together and then one opening is closed shut to form the hat.

For DJ.
- chain height of:
- 8 in tall for a normal beaning that covers the ears and reaches at or below the brow.
- want to fold it up from bottom at least 4 inches. allow for curve, another inch. so 5 inches total.
- want to slouch some. add another 4 inches.
- 8 + 5 + 4 = 17 inches for the chain height.
- my head is 23.5 in in circ. DJ's head is a littler larger than mine. shoot for circ of
24 in.23 in. - crochet rows until rectangle reaches2423 inches wide. changed from 24 to 23 inches per info below.
I'll try HDC back-loop only.

hat tip :)

I completed this hat in November 2015. I wound up with a circumference of around 21.0 to 21.5 inches. I crocheted bigger, but I tested it on my head after seaming the sides, and it was too large. I removed two rows, tried again, and still too large. I removed two more rows. I probably could have made it a little small, since the yarn stretches, especially with usage. But it's a fun hat.
If it was for me, then I would stop around 20 inches for the circumference.
